Artist Statement
I work with digital photography in both conceptual and documentary settings. My work explores the intersection of the real and the imaginary, their artistic interaction within the pictorial plane.
Based on mental travel techniques, I approach photography as a medium for fragmented human memories, space, and time. I am interested in the influence of human imagination on real objects in the material world.
Using collage techniques and long-exposure photography, I strive to visualize ephemeral states inherent in the human psyche: dreams, déjà vu, and mirages. I transform photography from a visual object into an element of emotional memory.
